when i plug it in it doesn't try to find the drivers, and the install cd it came with tells you to follow the windows prompt when it asks for the new drivers. I recently bought motorola homesight (a home security system) and i have to plug in the receiver via usb. i've had trouble with the usb ports on this pc off and on. once it started loading windows i would plug the mouse back in and could use it. and I could unplug the mouse from the usb and it'd unfreeze. where it checks to see if you have a keyboard/mouse plugged in etc (before windows loads). when I use to have a mouse plugged in it would sometimes freeze when I first turned it on. In the past i've had problems with the usb. I don't have a monitor or anything attached.
